This Girl Is Suing Her Parents For Posting Embarrassing Facebook Photos Of Her

By Madeleine Williamson - Sep 17 2016

We all have photos we’d rather never see the light of day. But social media – and parents – have a way of exposing these things. And an 18-year-old Austrian woman isn’t having it.

Her parents posted childhood photos on Facebook without her permission. She’s on social media as a baby having her diaper changed and as a toddler potty training. Now that they refuse to take the photos down, the anonymous woman is suing.

“I'm tired of not being taken seriously by my parents,” she said.

So does she have a case? Her lawyer thinks so. He says the pictures’ presence on Facebook may violate her right to privacy. If they do, she could win her lawsuit. She’ll go before a judge in November. Your parents’ days of posting embarrassing pictures without your consent may be numbered.

Would you really consider suing your parents over something like this, though? It seems a little overdramatic, but to each their own.
