'Tis the season for high school graduations, and this year, President Obama is celebrating with us. Obama's eldest daughter, Malia, who will turn 18 in July, recently graduated from Sidwell Friends School in Washington.
The Washington Post reported that the President was asked to speak at the commencement ceremony, which he politely declined, which he had previously explained was because he was "going to cry." He attended the ceremony with First Lady Michelle.
"He was just a total dad," one mother of a graduating senior told the Post. "You didn't know they were there."
Malia will take a gap year before enrolling at Harvard in 2017, after her father has finished his second term as President.
Congrats to Malia on her great accomplishment!
