The University of Missouri has been at the center of national media attention after protests over the handling of racist incidents on campus led to the resignation of University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe and Mizzou Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin. And on Tuesday, threats of violence toward black students at the University of Missouri were posted on anonymous-posting app Yik Yak, leading to the arrest of a 19-year-old white student who will be charged with making a terrorist threat.
Although the University of Missouri has been in the spotlight, the racism that exists at Mizzou is not isolated to that campus. In light of the recent events, thousands have shared their experiences on Twitter what it's like to be #BlackOnCampus, and it continues to show just how much work there is to be done. If you've been following the events at Mizzou and thinking it couldn't happen on your campus, these tweets are an important read.
