7 Things Every Freshman Has Texted Their Mom

By Elaina Berkowitz - Feb 25 2016

College is like losing your mom in the grocery store for four years. It's a great experience being away from home, but there are a lot of things that require a quick text to mom...

1. Laundry

I would say doing laundry is hard to get used to, but let’s be honest. It’s deep into the 2nd semester and we all still struggle to perfect the art of laundry.

Seriously! It’s fine! I don’t mind! The dining hall is a no 80% of the time, so food is… extremely necessary.

3. Microwaving

….four fire drills later and you still don’t know how to use the microwave.

4. Laundry 2.0

Some call it lazy. I call it working smarter instead of harder.

5. The Cover-Up

Start with the worst, but alternate between positive and negative.

6. College in General

Sometimes you feel like everything is crumbling. Sometimes you cope by sending about a thousand texts to your mom.

7. Money

…mostly for food.

Whether you're 5 miles or 500 miles away from home, texts to mom are an essential aspect of surviving laundry dilemmas, food issues, and basically everything else too.
